The AMCP 2010 Educational Conference was absolutely the best conference for a pharmacy student to attend. Seven students from Pacific traveled to the midwest to learn about managed care, pipeline (upcoming) drugs, health care reform, residencies and much more. The event was held at America's Center, a convention building that was fully staffed and ready for over 2,000 guests from various schools and practices. Keep an eye out for a photo gallery with more tidbits about the event!

After a grueling week of midterms, AMCP@Pacific had the opportunity to visit Blue Shield of California in San Francisco. The annual event allows students to tour the facilities and learn about the structure of the major insurance company. Students were able to learn about what a day in the life of various pharmacists at an insurance company was like. Students were also able to participate in mock prior authorization and P&T decision making. Major thank yous to Blue Shield for putting so much time and effort into their event!
